The Price is Right: Nunavut Edition
Sorry it's taken me a while to put up another post...
I've been having some trouble with blogger.com and my internet connection!
PLEASE NOTE: I've moved all the grocery cart items to a new site: http://priceisrightnunavut.blogspot.com/
Maggie and YK-Megan:
If you email me ( qiqitiq@yahoo.ca) your contact information I'll get your stuff to you ASAP!
For everyone else...maybe you didn't win a FABULOUS prize...but you have learned how much FUN it is to make a strike pay cheque go 'round at the Northern.. And why we jumped up and down when our cheques went up by a whole $150 bucks a few weeks ago.
And if you sit on a guild committee (or have the ear of management,) the next time you hear a guild representative from the North talk about the need to
review the Northern Allowance...you'll understand the situation a bit better.
(BY the way...Kud0s to the guild for putting the bi-lingual bonus for aboriginal languages on the table in their last proposal. It may not go anywhere, but the recognition of this issue means a lot to those of us who want to see our aboriginal language hosts and reporters remunerated for the added value they bring to the CBC.)
By the way...I'm probably not going to be posting much in the next couple of days. I do have some things I want to say...but they may have to wait since
I'm packing up my house in preparation for a move that's supposed to happen when the lockout ends. (WILL IT EVER END? PLEASE TELL ME IT'S GOING TO END.) And then I'm on my way to Toronto, via Winnipeg, for Thanksgiving.
I'm going to eat turkey and hug lots of trees.

Thanks Mark. I think I'd rather have caribou too. But, you know, it comes comes at a cost...you have to tolerate snow in September and 40 km/hr winds on the picket line osme days!
Maybe I'll see you on the picket line in Toronto the week of Thanksgiving? I'm going to try to come down for a few hours on Thursday next week, unless, as we're all hoping, this crap ends soon!
I'll be the one wearing the CBC North cap and sweating a lot.
I'll try to bring some caribou jerky.
I'll keep my eye out for your sled!
